About Know Jack Farm
Our History
Know Jack Farm is an urban mini-farm and market garden tucked into the Walkerville neighborhood of Shelbyville, Indiana. The farm is located steps away from Little Blue River and Kennedy Park and a very short walk to the historic Shelby County Fairgrounds.
What started as a hobby farm in 2020, has evolved into a working market farm focused on flower and herb cultivation and fruit and vegetable production exclusively through no-till and regenerative agriculture growing methods.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide the community with fresh, locally grown organic and nutrient dense food, herbs and beautiful (often edible) flowers — all while promoting and demonstrating the latest in sustainable agriculture and proven soil-health practices.
Our Namesake
While our farm name is a cheeky acknowledgement that we sometimes "don't know jack" about what we're doing, it is also a heart-felt homage to our owner's grandfather, Jack Ivie, who raised his family here in the Walkerville neighborhood of Shelbyville and lived on this land for most of his life.
